Really, is there a funkier piece of punctuation than an ampersand? We celebrate it here with this intriguing and quirky 3D wooden picture.
All the best things come with a curvy little ampersand. Fish & chips, gin & tonic, Ant & Dec…
I love the shape of the ampersand, its curling shape and bold downwards stroke. The background is a jumble of shapes and textures, inspired by the forms of letters and symbols.
The picture is created from 3 layers of poplar plywood. The background is kiss-cut (the lightest touch of a cut) into the wood, and the second layer gives an outline to its geometric patterns. Finally, the ampersand itself is mounted onto this abstract background, all assembled by hand.

The design comes unframed but you can add on an additional framing option using the drop down box. Clicking on the 'Framed' option will alter the price accordingly, before you add it to your basket.
The frame is a 33mm deep white box frame, suitable for 3D items. It is made from sustainably sourced pine with an MDF backing board and is fitted with glass. The moulding for the frame measures at W20mm x D42mm and the glass size measures W297mm x H420mm (A3).
*PLEASE NOTE* each piece will be different because no two pieces of wood have the same grain and therefore each will engrave slightly differently, producing differential tones.
